Our parish, which covers over 200 square miles of Sussex countryside, is in the Cathedral Deanery of
the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.

There are three Catholic churches in our parish:

The Sacred Heart, Petworth;
SS Anthony & George, Burton Park, Duncton
The Divine Motherhood & S Francis of Assisi, Midhurst

These pages will introduce you to our parish community, and give you some information about the history of the parish and its buildings. We are lucky to have three very beautiful churches, but there is much more to the parish than bricks and mortar. Our parish is a lively, dedicated and friendly community of people of all ages, united by our will to love God and to make him known to others. If you would like to come and visit us, you will be very welcome.

Our parish priest is Canon Peter Newsam. He has been in the parish since September 2004. Before that he was an assistant priest at Chichester for four years, and before that at Bognor for 18 months. Fr. Peter was previously a minister in the Church of England, and he is married with two adult children.
